English First League Teams

In England, the premier league is the biggest division, and comprises twenty teams. Six of them have their bases in London. Take a look at the London-based teams, their objectives, and achievements.


It’s based at Stamford Bridge, Fulham. Since new management in 2003, Chelsea has broken many records. It has won the Premier League four times, and held a title for best FA cup performance twice. They also won the Champions Club in 2012, making history as the first London team to do so. In 2013, it came first in the UEFA Europa League.


Based in the Emirates Stadium, Wenger’s boys have been winning and losing. Tottenham is its main competitor in the North London Derby. Since the establishment of the Premier League back in 1992, Arsenal has won thrice in 1998, 2002 and 2004. Since 1993, it has bagged 8 FA Cup titles. They came in at fifth position in the last season.


The Wembly-based Spurs came into existence in 1882. Their breakthrough was in the 1960s. In these years, they were the first team in England to bag the awards for best FA cup performers. They won a major European trophy. Tottenham did all these in one season.

West Ham

The Hammers’ home ground is at the London stadium. Even with few wins, it still has the most loyal fans of all time. Since its formation in 1885, it has seen the rise of an East End institution. West Ham was position eleven in the last season.

Crystal Palace

Under the management of Sam Allardyce, the Eagles have made noticeable steps. They have managed to stay at the top, despite not winning any major trophies. Selhurst Park is home to this great team. They finished 14th in the last season.

These teams have achieved a lot in the years they have been in existence. Not only have they increased their fan base, they have also made financial progress.
